Hi! I’m Harrison Johnson, and I’m a 12-year-old with a big dream: to honor the heroes of Pearl Harbor by preserving their stories and teaching the lessons of December 7, 1941, to future generations!
Over the last three years, we’ve raised $107,000 of our $100,000 goal!
Thank you for your generosity. Your support has made this journey unforgettable, and I’m excited to share the next chapter with you.
I’m partnering with Pacific Historic Parks to create a virtual reality (VR) experience to bring the stories of Pearl Harbor to life for children. Our immersive experience will start at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Honolulu, Hawaii, and then expand to schools across the United States — and hopefully worldwide.
This project is a perfect blend of my love for history and technology. Through the VR experience, I hope to inspire children to connect with this pivotal moment in history in a way that is both exciting and unforgettable. Your prayers and support mean the world to me as I continue this mission.
May God bless you and our great nation!
Our VR experience will transport children into the events of December 7, 1941, shining a spotlight on the heroes of Pearl Harbor. Through interactive storytelling, we’re making history come alive in a way that’s engaging, immersive, and unforgettable.
Thanks to your contributions and prayers, this vision is coming to life. Launching this spring at the Pearl Harbor Memorial, we’ll expand to schools across the United States with a bold goal to inspire students worldwide. Together, we’re not just preserving the stories of Pearl Harbor—we’re ensuring they’re felt, understood, and remembered by future generations.
Thank you for helping us honor these heroes and keep their legacy alive.
The best is yet to come!

I created My Pearl Harbor Reading List as a way to honor the heroes of December 7, 1941, and ensure their stories are never forgotten. In addition to the books I’ve selected, I’m recommending resources from Scholastic that provide powerful tools to deepen understanding and spark meaningful conversations—whether you’re learning at home, teaching in a classroom, or exploring in a library.
December is a special time to reflect on these events, but these books and resources are available all year. If you’ve used them or enjoyed any of the books from my list, I’d love to hear how they’ve made an impact—your stories mean so much to me and help keep these memories alive for future generations.
Thank you for helping me honor the brave heroes of Pearl Harbor and carry their legacy forward.
When I’m not raising awareness about Pearl Harbor, I love:
Volunteering: Giving back to those who serve our country is something I’m passionate about—it’s my way of showing gratitude and making a difference.
Playing Golf: I’ve started playing when I was three and scored my first hole-in-one when I was 10 years old!
Adventure Sports: Whether I’m soaring through the treetops zip-lining, scaling walls while rock climbing, or diving into my latest passion—fencing—I can’t get enough of the adrenaline rush!
Learning: Math, literature, and technology are my favorite subjects. I’m always eager to dive into an algebra problem, uncover history’s stories, or get lost in a great book.
Growing in My Faith: My relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation of everything I do. I love learning scripture and finding ways to live out its lessons in my daily life.
These passions keep me energized and grounded, helping me connect with others and pursue my mission to honor the heroes of Pearl Harbor.
“Meet 12-year-old Harrison Johnson. His third-grade history project led him to learn about Pearl Harbor. His research came to life after a visit to Pearl Harbor National Memorial, home of the USS Arizona Memorial. Upon his return home to North Carolina, he announced his desire to raise $100,000 to support the continued remembrance on this important memorial.
Pacific Historic Parks is the non-profit cooperating association of the National Park Service in stewardship of Pearl Harbor. Our mission is to Remember, Honor and Understand World War II in the Pacific.
Sadly many schools are no longer teaching the lessons of the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor and how our country, led by our greatest generation, rallied and beat the forces of tyranny.
We are pleased this fundraising campaign is being led by this inspiring young man.
Become a hero today!! Help Harrison meet his goal.”

Mr. Campbell, thank you for believing in my vision from the very beginning and never dismissing me as just a kid with unrealistic ideas.
